Abstract

This project combines my two favorite subjects for the moment ­ science fiction and English. I have put my knowledge of English to the test by translating a science fiction movie called Battlestar Galactica. This movie is the first episode of a television series which was made in 1978 by Universal. Its creator and executive producer is Glen A. Larson. The basic storyline is, that after the destruction of the twelve home planets of the human race, the survivors set off across space to find the last colony of man ­ Earth.

The project also includes a brief description of Swedish science fiction. The first Swedish science fiction magazines Hugin and Jules Verne-magasinet for example.

I have also made a little survey on the internet. I asked people about what kind of science fiction they enjoy, like their best author, book, movie and television series. It turned out very interesting.
